Join our Peer Review Committee and help the Alliance for Mental Well-Being drive positive change and foster collective impact by empowering community organizations to do their most ambitious and important work.
The Alliance’s Grant Program enhances our capacity to achieve our mission by empowering community organizations to deliver projects and initiatives that improve mental well-being outcomes for people on PEI. The Grant Program is an annual funding mechanism that drives positive change by creating the conditions for building a shared knowledge base grounded in evidence; and developing and nurturing partnerships for collective impact.
An independent Peer Review Committee is responsible for adjudicating grant applications against specific Grant Program criteria and participating in discussions that result in funding recommendations to the Alliance Board of Directors for approval.
Peer Reviewers are offered an honorarium for volunteering their time and effort to the Grant Program’s adjudication process.
The Alliance for Mental Well-Being welcomes applications from individuals interested in participating as Peer Reviewers.
Peer Reviewers commit to performing the following activities associated with the Grant Program adjudication process.
Application Assessment:
• Review and score grant applications based on predefined criteria.
• Engage in discussions with fellow reviewers to achieve consensus on funding recommendations.
Orientation and Training:
• Learn about the Alliance and the Grant Program, the grant assessment criteria and how to use the grant portal.
The expected time commitment of a Peer Reviewer is 25-30 hours over a three-to-four-month (October – January) period.
This commitment is inclusive of the orientation and training provided by the Alliance, individual preparation and application review and assessment, and participating in group discussions about the applications.
Peer Reviewers are required to use the Alliance’s Grant Lifecycle Manager system to access and adjudicate all grant applications. Peer Reviewers must have access to a secure, private computer and a strong and stable internet connection. Using public Wi-Fi or unsecured networks poses a significant risk to the confidentiality of applications and should be avoided.
We strive to make our application process simple but thorough to ensure the needs of the Alliance and interested potential Peer Reviewers are met.
