Dayana Balqis
Client Service & Administrative Assistant
Dayana Balqis is the Client Service and Administrative Assistant with the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being and The Growth Commons. In this role, she supports both organizations by answering inquiries, assisting with navigation, and ensuring that every interaction is welcoming and supportive.
Dayana holds an Honours bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Prince Edward Island, where her research focused on childhood adversity and challenges related to spirituality and religiosity. Her academic work deepened her understanding of trauma, resilience, and the many factors that influence mental well-being across the lifespan.
Before joining the Alliance, Dayana served as Food Bank Coordinator at UPEI, supporting students from diverse backgrounds and helping create an environment aligned with diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. This experience strengthened her commitment to trauma-informed service and equity, which continues to guide her work today.
Dayana brings a warm, thoughtful, and people-centred perspective to the Alliance and The Growth Commons. She is passionate about fostering connections, supporting community well-being, and helping create collaborative spaces where individuals and organizations can thrive.
If you could tell every single person on PEI why the work of the Alliance is important, what would you tell them?
“Mental well-being shapes how we show up for ourselves, our families, and our communities. The Alliance focuses on prevention and strengthening, helping people build the skills and support they need before challenges take root. When Islanders have the tools and support to thrive early on, we strengthen PEI. ”
