Leslie-Ann Ruben, FCCA, CFE

Finance and Enterprise Assistant

Leslie-Ann Ruben joined the Alliance in May 2025 as Finance and Enterprise Assistant. In this role, she works closely with the Finance and Administration Manager to ensure the smooth financial and operational functioning of the organization. Her responsibilities include bookkeeping, financial compliance, and supporting the oversight of social enterprise initiatives. Leslie-Ann is dedicated to maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and the highest standards in all financial processes.

Prior to Joining the Alliance Leslie-Ann served as a Project Manager at the University of Prince Edward Island. In this role, she oversaw funding agreements and collaborated closely with government agencies, pan-Canadian colleagues, and partner organizations on various research initiatives.

Leslie-Ann also played a pivotal role in establishing the Atlantic Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) group. As one of the few Certified Fraud Examiners in the Atlantic provinces at the time, she was instrumental in its formation and proudly became the first CFE to represent Prince Edward Island on the ACFE Atlantic Board.

Originally from Grenada, a picturesque island in the Caribbean, Leslie-Ann has always been passionate about the intersection of business and public service. After completing her education in the United Kingdom, she earned the ACCA designation—an internationally recognized accounting credential. In 2009, she was awarded the prestigious FCCA (Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant) designation and later became a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners

From 2006 to 2017, Leslie-Ann and her husband lived and worked in the Cayman Islands, where she held various roles across both public and private sectors. In 2017, they made the move to Victoria-by-the-Sea, Prince Edward Island. Today, she enjoys the tranquility of life on the Island’s scenic south shore and delights in hosting friends and family to share in its beauty. Outside of work, Leslie-Ann finds joy in cooking and cherishing time with loved ones.

If you could tell every single person on PEI why the work of the Alliance is important, what would you tell them?

“I feel very fortunate to be working in an organization that can impact the lives of so many Islanders. The idea that we can help create the conditions for people to achieve and maintain the best possible mental well-being throughout their lives is an awesome mandate to be part of.
