PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being Releases Summary Report from Inaugural Mental Well-Being Research Forum

Charlottetown, PEI — The PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being is pleased to release the Summary Report of the Mental Well-Being Research Forum, a document that captures the key highlights, discussions and findings from the Forum, held on September 27, 2023, in Charlottetown.

The inaugural Provincial Mental Well-Being Research Forum, a collaborative initiative between the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being and the Mental Well-Being Research Advisory Table, brought together representatives from government, academia, healthcare, social services, education, municipalities, and community non-profits. The event gained significant interest, with over 70 attendees, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing mental well-being outcomes in Prince Edward Island.

The Summary Report serves as a tool to engage stakeholders, policymakers, and the community at large. Offering a succinct overview of the Forum’s outcomes, it provides a foundation for continued collaboration and advancement in the field of mental well-being research. Stakeholders, community leaders, and all interested individuals are invited to engage with the Summary Report, discuss and collaborate in the pursuit of improved mental well-being in Prince Edward Island. 

“The Forum reinforced our belief that Island leaders are committed and willing to explore new ways to solve some of our most challenging problems. We also share a desire to use research as a foundation for innovative policy and effective practice,” said Karen Cumberland, Executive Director of the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being.
