‘In The Know’ Mental Health Literacy Training

‘In The Know’ Mental Health Literacy Training

The PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being in partnership with the PEI Department of Agriculture and Land, the PEI Federation of Agriculture, the Canadian Mental Health Association – PEI, and the University of Guelph Ontario Agriculture College, is bringing the program to PEI to help farmers and their communities build mental well-being and resilience, particularly during times of significant stress and adversity.

‘In the Know’ is a research-based mental health literacy training program developed by farmers for farming communities, currently being implemented in Ontario and Nova Scotia. The PEI training initiative is for the Island’s farming community. This includes farmers, family members, peers, veterinarians, breeders, seed or feed salespeople, financial institutions, accountants, community members, and agricultural industry representatives. Participants will gain mental health knowledge, and confidence in recognizing mental health struggles, speaking openly about these struggles, and helping others who are struggling too.
