22 Jun Seeking Reviewers for Peer Review Committee
The PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being is seeking volunteers to serve as Peer Reviewers for the Focusing Action for Positive Change Grant Program summer cycle. The peer review process is a critical component of the grant program and ensures proposed projects and initiatives fit within the Alliance’s mandate.
Members of the Peer Review Committee have expertise and experience relevant to the Grant Program’s objectives and action areas. They represent the PEI community of applicants and are selected, in part, with an eye to their experience working with or representing diverse populations.
We welcome applications from individuals with some, or all, of the following qualifications or attributes:
• Knowledge and experience relevant to the Alliance’s focus on mental well-being, resilience and/or collective impact approaches drawn from any context, including professional or community-based work, academic, lived experience, etc.;
• Knowledge and understanding of the PEI community, contexts and diverse population groups;
• Experience in Indigenous contexts;
• Experience in grant writing or review;
• Research and/or evaluation expertise;
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality, act in the absence of conflict of interest, and uphold fairness and transparency throughout the Grant application review process.
Peer reviewers will receive training and support to build a strong understanding of the application assessment criteria and the Alliance’s action areas: supporting responsive relationships, reducing sources of toxic stress and its harmful build-up and strengthening core life skills.
The estimated time commitment of a peer reviewer per grant cycle is 12 to 17 hours. The Alliance provides reviewers with an honorarium in recognition of their important contribution of time and expertise to the granting process.
