Floramie has been a member of the Alliance team since June 2023, when she joined us as a summer student. She quickly demonstrated a strong work ethic, alignment with our values, and tech-savviness that we needed in-house. In February 2024, she became a full-time staff member, serving as our Digital Marketing and Information Systems Administrator.

In this role, she manages all of our digital marketing activities, including social media, website administration, and in-house design. A talented photographer and videographer, Floramie leverages her visual storytelling skills to share the impactful work of the Alliance and showcase our community partners.  She is also our behind-the-scenes whiz for everything digital, including document management, information systems management and tech support.  

The only member of our team with a degree in Applied Physics, Floramie’s past work experience includes over ten years working in software testing, quality assurance and project management roles. She and her husband also ran a wedding photography business, where she gained experience in social media marketing and website management.   

Through her work with the Alliance, Floramie has found fulfilment in promoting mental well-being and putting a spotlight on the work being done by the Alliance’s community partners. 

Since relocating to Charlottetown with her husband and young son in late 2022, Floramie has fallen in love with the Island’s slower pace of life and natural beauty.  

If there’s one thing you could tell every person on PEI about the Alliance, what would you tell them?

“We don’t just fund projects, we also do research/support researchers focused on mental well-being. We offer brain science training that everyone would benefit from too. A lot is going on behind-the-scenes at the Alliance to set the stage for a brighter future.”
