Nancy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Alliance, which has equipped her with the skills to navigate growth, inspire teams, and drive organizational innovation. As our Executive Director, she is responsible for ensuring the Alliance fulfils its mandate by guiding the development and implementation of the strategic plan and operational activities.  Reporting to the Board of Directors, she serves as the integral link between our Board and staff.

In this key leadership role, Nancy also maintains the organization’s fiscal integrity, supports strong board governance, and drives strategic revenue generation to ensure the Alliance’s long-term sustainability.

Nancy oversees all aspects of the Alliance’s human resources. In this capacity, she finds deep fulfilment in supporting staff to thrive and do their best work. She also builds and nurtures strong relationships with our community partners, funders, and other stakeholders to collaboratively advance a shared vision for enhanced mental well-being on PEI.

She began her career in human services, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges. Through these various roles, Nancy discovered she had a passion for management and upgraded her skills to make the transition. For the next seventeen years, Nancy served as the founding Executive Director of Inclusions East. In this leadership role, she developed and implemented the organization’s vision and helped build organizational capacity. Deeply committed to serving her community, Nancy also co-founded Transportation East, an accessible transportation service for Islanders in Kings County. Through these roles, she discovered a love for driving new initiatives forward.

A 2024 graduate of the prestigious Wallace McCain Insitute’s Strategic Leadership Program, Nancy is a dedicated lifelong learner. She holds a diploma in Human Services from Holland College, as well as several certifications and course credits in HR,  Business, and Public Administration, from UPEI. As a certified MANDT System trainer for 10 years, Nancy also helped deliver this holistic evidence-based training on reducing workplace violence to individuals and organizations.

Having grown up in PEI, Nancy has seen firsthand the struggles many individuals and families face with their mental well-being. She is deeply passionate about fostering resilience and equipping people with tools to enhance their well-being. Since joining the Alliance, Nancy has found daily inspiration in the team’s formidable commitment to the organization and improving mental well-being on PEI.

Nancy lives in Morell with her husband and their black lab, Misty. She’s the proud mom of three adult children and loves spending time outdoors, golfing, singing, and playing guitar. A lifelong volunteer, she’s been giving back to her community since she was 13 and finds joy and purpose in helping others.

If you could tell every single person on PEI why the work of the Alliance is important, what would you tell them?

I would say that the Alliance’s commitment to helping people understand the importance of resilience and providing evidence-based training on how to build that resilience in themselves and others will very much change the future of our Island.
